Educational Programming
Connecting with and educating the community should be boundless. One of these boundaries is the location. Many Non Profits and Educational Institutions are unable to afford travel. Over the years I’ve been proud to create and collaborate on off-site programming designed to educate, inspire and empower audiences of all ages.
Each program is custom tailored to connect with participants in an environment where storytelling has no barriers for entry and is for everyone. Students are taught how to foster critical and creative thinking, including but not limited to, encouraging participants to delve deeper into the role of technology in our world. By bridging the gap between theoretical, textbook stories + knowledge and practical application, educational seminars demonstrate invaluable insights and inspire a lifelong passion for learning and innovation.
See a short list below featuring some of my favorite moments over my career.
AwesomeCon XR Booth + Storytelling Seminar
For the third year in a row, I partnered with AwesomeCon to provide benefits for its members including a seminar on our background and storytelling approach. This was the first year our small business organization got to also interact with guests on the trade show floor.
Montgomery Co Libraries + MD STEM Fest
Through partnership with Maryland STEM Fest, we were introduced to new partners in Montgomery County Libraries. As part of MD STEM Fest we created a mini gallery of XR art and interactive activities for guests.
As a second half of the program, I led an hour long seminar on my background to Wootton HS Theatre and Media Students Returning to my old HS for the first time since graduation!
SW Academy
Southwest Academy DC (SADC) offers an immersive and transformative summer program designed to equip youth with essential IT skills while unleashing their creative potential in Audio/Visual production. SADC goes beyond traditional education, as we embarkon a meaningful journey toexplore critical community issues, including substance use disorderand violence in the community through the creation of a documentary that will empower, uplift, and amplify the voices within the southwest waterfront community. Recently I gave a seminar to their students on our career tracks + opportunities and provided an in kind field trip for them to visit the same week.
